Description

Victron LiFePO4 batteries are the safest lithium ion batteries on the market. The nominal voltage of a LiFePO4 cell is 3.2V, as opposed to 2V for acid batteries, so a 12.8V battery contains 4 cells connected in series, and a 25.6V battery contains 8 cells connected in series.

It is not necessary for a LiFePO4 battery to be fully charged. The lifespan of such a battery is improved with a partial charge rather than a full charge, which is the big advantage over acid batteries.

Other advantages are the wide temperature ranges over which it can operate, excellent cycling performance, low internal resistance and high efficiency of 92%.

You can monitor cell voltages, temperature, and error status via Bluetooth, this is very useful for localising a potential problem such as cell imbalance.

WARNING !!! The use of a LiFePO4 battery charger is required ! Gel, AGM or lead-acid battery chargers are NOT compatible (will overheat the battery). If charging with solar panel regulator/inverter, it must be compatible with Lithium /LiFePO4 batteries
