Description

A solar charger collects energy from solar panels and transmits it to the batteries. Using the latest, fastest technology, Victron SmartSolar maximises this energy collection, intelligently managing it to achieve a full charge in the shortest possible time. SmartSolar maintains the integrity of the batteries, extending their lifespan.

The SmartSolar charge controller will charge even an extremely flat battery. The SmartSolar regulator can operate with a battery voltage of 0 volts (provided the cells are not completely sulfated or otherwise damaged).

Meaning of the SmartSolar charger description:

100 = 100V maximum voltage from photovoltaic panels
20 = 20A is the maximum charging current it can transmit to the batteries
SmartSolar = means that this MPPT has bluetooth connection and allows access and connection from the Victron Connect app (Bluetooth range only)
IP43: Protection against penetration by tools, wires, etc. with a diameter of 2.5 mm or more and protection against drops falling on the equipment having an angle of inclination of 60° from vertical

Advanced maximum power point detection under partial shading conditions

Under partial shading conditions, two or more maximum power points may be present on the power-voltage curve, the innovative BlueSolar algorithm maximises energy harvest by locking to the optimal MPP.

Charging power

By connecting all charges at charging power, battery overcharging is avoided. Charging power disconnects the load when the battery is discharged to the preset voltage (48V model: relay interface).

Battery life through intelligent battery management

When a solar charge controller fails to recharge the battery in a day to its full capacity, the partial state of charge will lead to the destruction of the battery in a few weeks or months.
The battery reliability algorithm registers the percentage of battery charge, and increases it daily until the harvested solar energy is enough to fully charge the battery, meaning that the algorithm modulates the level of load disconnection so that once every week 100% charging will be achieved
